Job Description

We have been retained by a high-end litigation boutique that seeks to hire, for its Manhattan or Washington, D.C. office, a junior litigation associate or a judicial law clerk making the transition to private practice. The role focuses primarily on complex commercial litigation, while also offering work on white-collar and regulatory defense matters. The firm is known for sophisticated work, an accomplished group of attorneys, and a genuine commitment to pro/low bono work.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle complex commercial litigation matters across all phases, from pleadings through discovery and trial
• Support white collar and regulatory matters as part of a broader litigation practice
• Participate in the firm's pro bono and low bono initiatives
• Work closely with senior litigators on strategy, briefing, and client counseling

What the Firm Seeks

• Approximately two to three years of experience (i.e., likely class years 2023 to 2025)
• Elite academic credentials
• Excellent writing and analytical ability
• Substantive litigation experience or clerkship training
• Fluency in Mandarin is a plus

What the Firm Offers

• Salary of $225,000 to $245,000, depending on class year
• 1,750 billable hours requirement to qualify for discretionary bonus compensation (typically below market)
• Hybrid schedule (three days a week in the office)
