Not all classifications will be required to perform all job functions.Operates locomotive to transport material and spot rail cars utilizing instructions from a switch list.Regularly operates locomotive in a congested area and must use considerable caution to prevent damage to rail cars or accidents to employees.Operates switches and directs flow of cars in rail yard.Maintains area in a neat and orderly manner and reports work hazards.Eligibility RequirementsMust have a high school diploma, GED, or pass a Combined Basic Skills TestHave experience in machine operationMust be able to work effectively and efficiently both as a member of a team and independentlyAble to follow written and/or verbal instructions with minimal supervisionAbility to read, interpret, and follow documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and assembly instructionsSafety and quality focusedWillingness to wear required PPE at all times and always work safely.Must have valid driver’s licenseBe available to work any shift, and be dependable and reliable to show up for scheduled work shifts including overtime, as allowed per the union contractEnvironmental & Working ConditionsWill have to lift 50 pounds safely and drag blast hose over the full length of railcarWill perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving the whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materialsMay work in confined spaces and at heights exceeding 4 ft. off the ground with proper PPE and fall protectionClose mental and visual attention required, coordinating manual dexterity with mental and visual attention for sustained periods of time#rateWhy Join Our Team?We take pride in offering our employees rich benefits packages.
